The Mont Blanc Rallye is rolling into town!

The sounds of engines roaring through the forests, tyres screeching around hairpin bends, exhausts put-putting through our little villages signify the end of the summer season to many each year (and has been doing for some 20 years). As one of the finest mountain rallies around, it is definitely worth waiting for! This year marks the 74th edition of the race, taking place later this week on the 8, 9, 10 September. From modern rally cars, to classics to e-cars, there’s something for every breed of petrol head as the cars take to mountain passes such as the Col de La Joux Verte made famous by the tour de France, light up the hills in night rallys and mount the podeum right in the centre of Morzine at the Tourist Office Square.

On Friday the modern rally (capped at 200 teams) will be passing right in front of the Hotel du Lac, with cars departing from Avoriaz and heading down the Col de la Joux Verte from 8am. On Saturday, the modern race will go up to Hotel du Lac at Lake Montriond from Morzine from 2:10pm. The historic cars (VHC) will be heading down from Avoriaz from 1:10pm on Friday and up from Morzine at 8:30am on Saturday. Take your pick, and enjoy breakfast, lunch or drinks on our terrace.
