Endless bursts of colour in the evening summer sky, magical glimmering reflections from the surface of the lake, natural echoes and sound reverberations from the sheer cliff face… the Lake Festival is a feast for the senses and thanks to its unique landscape, extremely special at Lake Montriond.
Dating back to 1860, La Fête du Lac, the Lake Festival, was organised for Emperor Napoleon III on his visit to Annecy. The people of the town welcomed him and Empress Eugenie by organising festivities on the lake, including a fireworks spectacle. This has now become an annual tradition and lakes around the Savoie region light up to fantastic firework shows accompanied by themed music each first Saturday in August.
After a two-year forced break due to Covid-19, la Fête du Lac is back and ready to shine brighter than ever! The stunning sheer cliffs bordering Lake Montriond will shine and vibrate to the majestic fireworks show on Saturday 6 August 2022. Activities around the lake can be expected from around 4:30pm (subject to confirmation by Montriond town hall) and the musical fireworks show will be shown from around 10/10:30pm (TBC).
