A Winter 2024 Preview
While the long, hot, sunny days on the shores of Lac de Montriond continue to keep us entertained into mid-September, there’s no denying that the evenings are creeping in. With this comes thoughts of winter… too soon? Not if you’re already planning a ski trip to the incredible Portes du Soleil.
Hotel du Lac is located mid-way between the lively, bustling ski town of Morzine and the high-altitude, snow-sure playground of Avoriaz. Our guests enjoy easy access to both using the free ski bus, which stops directly outside of the hotel several times an hour during the winter season. The journey between Hotel du Lac and the pistes of Avoriaz is just five minutes; catching first lifts has never been easier.

ONE: Our location, mid-way between the charming, authentic ski village of Morzine and the high altitude resort of Avoriaz, gives our guests the best of both worlds. Morzine has some fantastic facilities, such as spas, swimming pools, excellent shops, bars and restaurants to explore, while Avoriaz is regularly the snowiest winter resort in the French Alps.
TWO: Our team live locally, they’ve been enjoying our local mountains, winter and summer, for many years. They’re able to help you plan each day, from finding the quietest pistes at the furthest corner of the piste map, to making your lunch reservations at the best mountain restaurants.
THREE: Our hotel bar is a lively place to hang out, enjoy some cocktails and often some live music too after a long day in the mountains. Apres ski has never been so easy! There’s no need to stumble out into the snow for dinner either, as our popular restaurant serves up delicious, regional dishes for you to enjoy.
FOUR: If you like to plan your ski trips around the snow forecast, here at Hotel du Lac we make life easy! Our minimum stay length during the winter season is just three nights, with flexible arrival and departure dates, making it easy for you to book at the last minute when the powder alarm sounds.
