HIKING

Braving the brisk weather rewards with silent empty forests, and a complete escape from civilisation.

In these months the mountain is yours, being more likely to stumble past a deer than a human in the forest. 

We are incredibly lucky to have so many breathtaking hikes right on our doorstep here at Hotel du Lac. Trails range from short and mellow meanders along the valley floor, to long and technical climbs to the very peaks of the Portes du Soleil. 

Our carefully curated self-guided routes provide the best available day walks in the Portes du Soleil mountain range. With our comprehensive route directions and detailed maps to hand, you can explore the delights of the alpine scenery at your own pace.

TRAIL RUNNING

Run the beautiful trails around the Portes du Soleil in the cooler temperatures of autumn.
 
Experience the crunch of the leaves whilst taking in the clean fresh air, and being totally mesmerised by the views.
 
With a number of routes available from the hotel front door, or from the nearby resorts of Morzine and Avoriaz, you will be spoilt for choice, whatever level runner you are. 

 

CYCLING

The lifts may have closed for inter-season, but the roads and trails are still there for the more enthusiastic adventurer. 

 Bring your own bike or see if Torico can help you out (open until mid September).
