TERMS AND CONDITIONS
SAS Hotel Montriond – Hôtel du Lac
The booking terms and conditions, together with our Privacy Policy, website terms and conditions, and any other written information provided prior to confirmation of your booking, constitute the entire basis of the contract between you and SAS Hotel Montriond – Hotel du Lac (“we” or “us”). Please read these terms carefully as they set out the respective rights and obligations of both parties.
For the purposes of these booking terms and conditions, references to “you” and “your” include the first named person on the booking, all persons on whose behalf the booking is made (including any persons added subsequently), and any other person to whom the booking is transferred.
By making a reservation, the first named person on the booking warrants and agrees, on behalf of all persons named on the booking, that:
– you have read and understood these terms and conditions and have the authority to accept and agree to be bound by them;
– you consent to the collection and use of personal information as described in our Privacy Policy;
– you are at least 18 years of age, and where the booking includes services with age restrictions, they confirm that all members of the party meet the applicable age requirements to purchase and use such services.
- THE CONTRACT
Once a reservation is confirmed—either by payment of a 50% deposit or by full payment if the arrival date is within 40 days—a confirmation email will be issued. At this point, a binding contract between you and SAS Hotel Montriond comes into existence.
It is your responsibility to review the confirmation email promptly and notify us immediately of any errors or omissions. - PAYMENT
When you make a reservation and your arrival date is more than 40 days away, a 50% non-refundable deposit is required to confirm the booking. The remaining balance will be debited from the same card 40 days prior to arrival. If you wish to pay by a different method, you must inform us in writing prior to the balance being due.
– Full payment is required for any bookings confirmed within 40 days of the scheduled arrival date. At the time of booking, the website will request payment of 50% of the total balance, with the remaining 50% to be automatically debited from the same payment method. All amounts paid are non-refundable upon receipt.
– If payment is not received by the required date, SAS Hotel Montriond reserves the right to cancel the reservation. - PRICE POLICY
All prices are quoted in Euros. The prices quoted, shown on our website and in supplementary promotional material apply at the time of purchase. The price of your booking as shown on your confirmation invoice is guaranteed, unless you elect to change the confirmed booking.
– A mandatory tourist tax of €1 per person per night will be applied and added to the total cost at the time of booking.
– SAS Hotel Montriond reserves the right to modify their rates for economic purposes, such as fluctuations in currency, inflation, or an increase in supplier costs. Any changes in rates will not affect bookings that have already been confirmed by Hotel du Lac.
– In the event that SAS Hotel Montriond, under exceptional circumstances, is unable to provide the guest with the agreed room(s) on arrival, SAS Hotel Montriond will provide a room of equal or superior quality at no extra charge. - STANDARD RATE
When making a reservation at the standard rate, you are under no circumstances entitled to any refund or amendment. - ACCURACY OF DESCRIPTIONS AND OFFERS
We endeavour to ensure that all information and pricing on our website is accurate at the time of publication. However, occasional errors or changes may occur, and we reserve the right to amend prices and other details accordingly. - CANCELLATION POLICY
6.1 Cancellation of the booking by you prior to arrival
The first named person on the booking must confirm any cancellation in writing. The date on which written notification is received by SAS Hotel Montriond will determine the level of cancellation charges applicable.
– Days prior to arrival cancellation charges (percentage of total cost) are as follows: More than 70 days: 50% / 69 to 41 days: 75% / 40 days or less: 100%
6.2 Cancellations by you on site
Once you have checked in we do not issue refunds or amendments for unused accommodation, regardless of the rate under which you have booked your accommodation.
6.3 Cancellation by SAS Hotel Montriond
In the unlikely event that SAS Hotel Montriond is obliged to cancel your booking, a full refund will be issued and an indemnity payment will be offered as follows.
– Days prior to arrival – Indemnity payment (percentage of total accommodation cost): More than 70 days: 50% / 69 to 41 days: 75% / 40 days or less: 100%
6.4 Cancellation by Force Majeure
SAS Hotel Montriond shall not be held in breach of contract or liable for any compensation in the event of cancellation due to Force Majeure. - LIABILITY
SAS Hotel Montriond will use reasonable skill and care in providing your accommodation and services. If the hotel is legally liable for any issues (other than personal injury, death, or loss/damage to luggage or personal possessions), its liability will be limited to the amount you paid for your holiday. To make a claim for such liability, you must notify SAS Hotel Montriond in writing within 28 days of the end of your booking.
SAS Hotel Montriond will not be responsible or pay you compensation for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, expense, cost or other claim of any description resulting from:
– the act(s) and/or omission(s) of the person(s) affected;
– the act(s) and/or omission(s) of any third party; circumstances beyond our control,
– the consequences of which could not have been avoided by the exercise of due care.
SAS Hotel Montriond shall not be held liable for any loss, delay or costs connected with, or arising out of, adverse weather conditions; including but not exclusive to: blocked roads, missed flights and airline delays. - BOOKING, TRAVEL AGENTS AND PACKAGES
For any reservations made through third-party travel companies, SAS Hotel Montriond and the travel agent will share relevant booking information. The travel agent may also receive payment from you for the hotel reservation. Any information or advice provided to you by the travel agent that has not been supplied by SAS Hotel Montriond is the sole responsibility of the travel agent. SAS Hotel Montriond accepts no liability for any incorrect information given by the travel agent. In such cases, any claims for compensation or redress must be directed to the travel agent and not to SAS Hotel Montriond.
– SAS Hotel Montriond is not a package travel tour operator and the Package Travel Regulations and Linked Arrangements Regulations do not apply to the services provided by SAS Hotel Montriond. - BUILDING AND DEVELOPMENT WORK
SAS Hotel Montriond will make reasonable efforts to inform guests of any ongoing building or refurbishment work at the property during their stay.
Any works occurring outside the hotel grounds are beyond our control. However, should such external works cause a disturbance, we will endeavor to liaise with the responsible parties to seek an appropriate resolution. We cannot be held liable for works or disturbances arising outside the hotel premises.
All accommodations are maintained to high standards; however, occasional, unforeseen maintenance or repair work may be necessary during your stay. SAS Hotel Montriond reserves the right to carry out such work as needed. - CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT PROCEDURE
Check-in time is from 16:00 – 20:00
Check-out time is between 8:00 – 10:00
– Check-in is permitted until 22:00. For arrivals after 22:00, prior notice must be provided no later than 20:00 on the day of arrival to enable the provision of self check-in instructions.
– Late check outs and early check ins are subject to availability and will be charged at a fee of €20 per room.
– If you arrive prior to check in time and your room is not ready – you may store your luggage at the property at your own risk. - DELIVERY OF DOCUMENTS
Upon receipt of deposit or full payment, SAS Hotel Montriond will issue a booking confirmation via email. Relevant documents will normally be forwarded to you by email together with your confirmation invoice. It is your responsibility to carefully review all documents upon receipt and to notify us immediately of any errors or omissions. - GUESTS WITH DISABILITIES
We welcome all customers including those with disabilities and endeavour to meet individual needs. However, in order to assist, we must be advised at the time of booking of any disability and special requirements. Special facilities can be requested but may not be guaranteed.
Acting reasonably, if we are unable to properly accommodate the needs of the person(s) concerned, we will not confirm your booking or if you did not give us full details at the time of booking, we will cancel it and impose applicable cancellation charges.
The rooms in Hotel du Lac are located on the first and second floor, however please be advised that the hotel is not equipped with a lift. - EXPECTED CONDUCT
All guests staying at Hotel du Lac are expected to conduct themselves in an orderly and acceptable manner and not to disrupt the enjoyment of other guests.
– In the event that your behaviour or that of any member of your party is causing or is likely to cause distress, danger or annoyance to any guests, staff members or patrons of our bar and restaurant, we reserve the right to terminate your booking arrangements with us immediately.
– In the event that you or a member of your party cause damage to property we reserve the right to terminate your booking arrangements with us immediately
– In the event that you or a member of your party cause a delay or diversion to transportation we reserve the right to terminate your booking arrangements with us immediately.
– In the event of the aforementioned termination of booking our liability to you and/or your party will cease and you and/or your party will be required to leave your accommodation or other service immediately. We will have no further obligations to you and/or your party. SAS Hotel Montriond will offer no refunds for lost accommodation or any other service will be made and we will not pay any expenses or costs incurred as a result of termination.
– You and/or your party may also be required to pay for loss and/or damage caused by your actions and we will hold you and each member of your party jointly and individually liable for any damage or losses caused by you or any member of your party. Full payment for any such damage or losses must be paid directly to the accommodation manager or other supplier prior to departure from Hotel du Lac. If you fail to make payment, you will be responsible for meeting any claims (including legal costs) subsequently made against us as a result of your actions together with all costs we incur in pursuing any claim against you.
– SAS Hotel Montriond cannot be held responsible for the actions or behaviour of other guests or individuals who have no connection with your booking arrangements or with us.
- TRAVEL INSURANCE
It is a condition of booking with SAS Hotel Montriond that all clients possess valid personal travel insurance. You are responsible for ensuring that you and your party have appropriate and adequate insurance coverage for the duration of your stay.
– SAS Hotel Montriond does not provide winter sports travel insurance or any other form of insurance coverage to its clients.
– It is the sole responsibility of guests to obtain adequate insurance covering accident, third-party liability, mountain sports, illness, or any other risks arising throughout the duration of the holiday, including travel to and from the resort. Guests are also liable for any costs or damages caused by themselves, members of their party, employees, or visitors to the property. Furthermore, guests are strongly advised to secure insurance coverage for their personal belongings.. - YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
The information provided herein is for general guidance only and shall not be construed as a guarantee of compliance with any applicable travel requirements. It is the sole responsibility of the guest to ascertain and comply with all relevant entry, health, and travel documentation requirements prior to travel. This includes, but is not limited to, obtaining valid passports, visas, health certifications or inoculations, international driving permits, and any other necessary travel documents. Guests are solely responsible for ensuring that all such documents are current, valid, and unexpired. - COMPLAINTS
In the unlikely event that you experience any difficulties during your stay, you must raise the issue immediately at the location where it occurs. This includes informing hotel staff, the relevant service provider, or contacting the 24-hour emergency number provided. Failure to do so while in resort may affect your rights under this agreement.
If the problem remains unresolved, you must submit a written complaint by email within 28 days of your return. Complaints received after this period may not be considered. - PUBLIC HOLIDAYS AND SEASONAL CHANGES
Subject to these terms and conditions, SAS Hotel Montriond accepts no liability for the alteration, limitation, or unavailability of facilities or services resulting from National or Public Holidays. Guests are advised to consult the relevant Tourist Board or local authority for up-to-date information prior to arrival. - SPECIAL REQUESTS
Any special requests, including but not limited to dietary requirements, allergies, or other specific needs, must be communicated to us at the time of booking and confirmed in writing. While all reasonable efforts will be made to accommodate such requests, no guarantee is given that they can or will be fulfilled, and such requests do not form part of the contractual agreement. - CONDITIONS OF SUPPLIERS
Additional services booked in connection with your stay may be provided by independent third-party suppliers. These services are delivered in accordance with the supplier’s own terms and conditions, which may include limitations or exclusions of liability, often in line with applicable international conventions. Copies of the relevant terms and conditions are available upon request, either from us or directly from the supplier.
– While SAS Hotel Montriond takes reasonable care to recommend reputable suppliers, we do not accept responsibility or liability for the performance, quality, or delivery of services provided by third parties.
– SAS Hotel Montriond shall not be held liable for any acts, omissions, or failures arising from services rendered by independent suppliers or third-party companies. - JURISDICTION
These booking terms and conditions, together with any contract or agreement arising therefrom, shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with French law. - FOOD & BEVERAGE
Guests are not permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages or other food and drinks into Hotel du Lac. Only alcoholic beverages and food purchased in Hotel du Lac may be consumed on the premises. - SMOKING
We operate a strictly no smoking policy in the hotel. Smoking is permitted in designated outdoor areas where ashtrays are provided. If it is determined that you or any member of your party have smoked inside the accommodation, you will be held liable for a cleaning fee of up to €500. - DOMESTIC ANIMALS
We do not permit domestic animals to stay in our accommodations.
– If it is determined that you or any member of your party have brought pets or other animals into any of our accommodations, a cleaning charge of €100 will be applied. - ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

– Ski sports and outdoor recreational activities all have potential hazards involving risk of injury or death. Each person participating in these activities must understand the risks involved, obtain the necessary training and take the needed precautions.
